It is the most common type of vaginal infection of vaginitis. There are some good bacteria called lactobacillus in the vagina of women and some bad bacteria called anaerobic. Usually, the number of lactobacilli is more than anaerobic but when anaerobic bacteria are present in large numbers in the vagina, it starts disrupting the natural balance of the body and causing vaginal infections due to which women have to face problems with bacterial vaginosis and itching, burning, swelling, and smelly discharge. This is especially the case for women who have relationships with one or more men.
When the number of fungus called Candida Albicans increases significantly in the vagina of women, they cause fungal infection in the vagina. However, Candida is naturally present in small numbers in the vagina which are usually not harmful but when their number increases, they cause vaginal infections.
It is a sexually transmitted infection that is spread by a single-celled protozoan parasite. This type of infection is known as Trichomonas Vaginalis. This infection can also infect the urogenital tract including the urethra.
