Overview

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease that spreads in a person's body by a bacterium called Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This infectious disease spreads from one person to another through the air. When the infected person suffers from this disease the particles of this bacteria are released from his body. When he coughs, splashes the bacteria gets spread in the air through the droplets and infects the person who comes in contact with them. However, this disease can be spread to a healthy person by the touch of an infected person when the bacteria reach the surface of their hands while coughing and sneezing.

The bacteria of this disease directly affect the lungs of a person. They also develop themselves in other parts of the body and thus infect the whole body. It is a fatal disease that can infect a person's brain and spinal cord as well. It is a slow-growing disease that damages a person's respiratory system too.
