There may be several risk factors that may be responsible for causing this cancer in men -
Some individuals have inherited gene mutations that can be found in all cells of the body. These gene mutations may play a role in increasing prostate cancer. Some hereditary gene mutations may be associated with prostate cancer. BRCA1 or BRCA2, men with Lynch syndrome, etc. may be responsible for increasing the risk of prostate cancer.
Prostate cancer can be genetic. If a member of a family is suffering from this cancer, other members of that family may also develop prostate cancer.
Obesity causes excessive fat in the body which reduces the body's immune system and affects the functioning of hormones and cells which can increase abnormal cells of a person's body and increase the risks of prostate cancer.
Some sexually transmitted infections such as chlamydia can cause inflammation in the prostate and inflammation in a person's prostate gland due to any other reason that may increase the risk of prostate cancer.
The risk of prostate cancer in older men is often higher than that of younger men. Individuals, age fifty years or older are at a higher risk of getting this cancer.
Imbalance and irregularity in a person's routine have a bad effect on their health. Due to their irregular life, the person is not able to take a healthy diet. Nutritional deficiency, food, mental stress, smoking, etc. have side effects on the person’s health. These individuals may be prone to prostate cancer.

If a person suffering from prostate cancer, the following symptoms are seen based on this cancer increases:
Based on the cells in which prostate cancer starts, they are divided into the following types -
These types of prostate cancer are very common which are seen in most people. About 90 to 95 percent of all prostate cancers fall in this category. Most of the cells in the prostate gland are gland-type cells. Adenocarcinoma is produced in these glandular cells. Adenocarcinomas of the prostate are fatal. These cancers spread to other parts of the body when they reach a certain size. There are two main subtypes of adenocarcinoma, which are -
Acinar adenocarcinoma
It is cancer initiated in acini cells. Approximately 9 out of 10 adenocarcinomas are acinar. In the prostate, the acini line the gland and produce fluid that eventually becomes semen. Acinar adenocarcinoma increases the level of prostate-specific antigen. The prostate-specific antigen is a substance produced by certain cells within the prostate gland of men.
Ductal adenocarcinoma
The remaining portions of adenocarcinoma are ductal. Ductal adenocarcinomas line the ducts of the prostate gland. This cancer begins in the tube of the prostate glands and does not affect the levels of prostate-specific antigens. Compared to acinar adenocarcinoma ductal adenocarcinoma spreads rapidly.
Cases of this type of prostate cancer are very rare. Sarcomas develop in the soft tissues of the prostate. These tissues include muscles and nerves. Sarcomas begin in the smooth muscles of the prostate, lymph vessels, and blood vessels. Sarcoma does not affect prostate-specific antigen.
It is also known as a carcinoid. These tumors develop in the neuroendocrine system, which consists of hormone-producing glands and nerve cells in the bloodstream. These tumors start releasing their hormones which results in their symptoms in cells against some elements which is called carcinoid syndrome. These tumors grow slowly.
It is a form of neuroendocrine that is more common than neuroendocrine tumors. Small cell carcinomas are made up of small round cells. They are very aggressive but do not affect the levels of prostate-specific antigens.
Transitional cell carcinoma starting in the structures around the prostate gland is also known as urothelial cancer. The structures around the prostate gland include the urethra, the cells of a tube that carries urine out of the body, and the cells of the bladder where these transitional cell carcinomas develop as primary tumors and begin to spread locally.
This is a fast-growing type of prostate cancer that is often rare. Squamous cell carcinomas develop into flat cells covering the prostate gland and are very aggressive.
Depending on the process and pace of development of cancer, prostate cancer is divided into four stages which are as follows -
In the first, prostate cancers are very small in size and are confined to the prostate gland, and do not spread beyond it.
In the second stage, the size of prostate cancer increases and it extends outside the prostate gland.
In its third stage, prostate cancer spreads outside the prostate gland to the tubes carrying semen.
In its last stage, cancer spreads to the lymph nodes and other organs of the body.
