High Cholesterol Treatment

Overview

Cholesterol in our body is a real substance in the form of fat that is produced by the liver. This cholesterol is essential for our body to function smoothly. Cholesterol is required for every healthy cell in our body to survive. Cholesterol works on the outer layers of cells and takes care of them. Along with converting the rays received by the sun into vitamin D, it also produces hormones and bile. All these substances help to digest body fat with the help of cholesterol.

This viscous waxy fat cholesterol is not soluble in water. It reaches the other parts of the body through the bloodstream in the form of lipoprotein particles so that it is employed to deliver protein etc. to various cells of the body. According to this, our liver produces more than half of the cholesterol and the rest of the cholesterol reaches the body through food.

Cholesterol is present in a person's body in two forms -

LDL, low-density lipoprotein i.e. bad cholesterol, damages our body.

HDL means high-density lipoprotein i.e. good cholesterol, which is useful in keeping our body healthy.

When we start taking regular intake of some foods having a high amount of fat, the level of low-density lipoprotein in our blood becomes high, this is called high cholesterol. With an imbalance in the amount of both forms of cholesterol, there is a lot of problems due to the accumulation of body fat, which can prove to be very harmful to the heart and brain.
