Ayurvedic treatments for Epilepsy

Overview

The human body is made up of trillions of cells. These cells are always active and control the activities of the brain. Almost all parts of the brain carry a kind of electric current. The cells of all these parts maintain contact with each other through electrical channels and exchange important information related to the brain. In this way, these cells fulfill their functions. Due to some reason, when abnormal electrical waves start circulating in the brain, the wrong message is sent from the brain to the nerves of the body, by which the body behaves abnormally. The person begins to feel unusual tremors for seconds to a few minutes and he becomes unconscious. This condition is called epilepsy. Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that causes abnormal waves in the brain. A sudden increase in electrical activity in the brain causes a temporary disturbance in the communication system between brain cells, causing a person's brain to become unbalanced and start having frequent seizures. We provide effective Ayurvedic treatments for epilepsy that promote natural healing. Our holistic approach combines herbal remedies, lifestyle modifications, and personalized care to help manage seizures and enhance overall well-being.

Types of Epilepsy

Epilepsy is mainly divided into three parts on the basis of seizures -

1. Partial seizure

When epileptic activities start in one part of a person's brain, the seizures caused by it are partial. These seizures can happen to a person in two ways -

  • Simple partial seizures: During simple partial seizures, the person does not faint. They remain active and have full attention to their surroundings.
  • Complicated partial seizures: In this type of seizure, the person becomes completely unconscious and does not remember anything about the seizure.

2. generalized seizure

This is the most common type of epilepsy. When epileptic activity starts in all parts of a person's brain, current starts spreading throughout his brain, causing him to become completely unconscious. Generalized seizures are divided into the following five subtypes -

  • Tonic-clonic seizures: This type of generalized seizure often causes the person to lose consciousness, body stiffness, and tremors.
  • Absence seizures: During the duration of this seizure, the person appears to be staring at space and his consciousness disappears for a short time.
  • Tonic seizures: In this type of seizure, the muscles of the person's body become extremely rigid, due to which he loses control of himself and falls to the ground.
  • Atonic seizures: Due to atonic seizures, all of the muscles of a person suddenly loosen, which can cause him to fall suddenly to the ground and cause injury.
  • Clonic seizures: In this type of seizure, the person feels tremors at regular intervals. The person has this seizure for about 2 minutes in which he can also be unconscious.

3. Secondarily generalized seizures

When epileptic activity begins as partial seizures and spreads to all parts of the brain, the seizures are called secondarily generalized seizures. As the seizure progresses, the person loses consciousness completely.

Complications of Epilepsy

A person suffering from epilepsy may face the following complications -

  • Due to epileptic seizures, a person suddenly falls on the ground, by which there is a possibility of serious injury.
  • A seizure lasting more than five minutes can cause permanent brain damage.
  • Sometimes epileptic seizures become so severe that the person dies.
  • A person with epilepsy tends to be surrounded by depression.
  • Many times a person starts having suicidal thoughts due to psychological problems.
